About Veterans Remediation & Restoration

Veteran-owned restoration serving Santa Rosa Beach, the 30A corridor, and Freeport since 2020. Florida Licensed Mold Assessor and Remediator. Meet our team.

Veterans Remediation & Restoration started in 2020 with a straightforward premise: restoration work done with the same discipline and accountability that military service demands. Based in Freeport and serving Santa Rosa Beach and the 30A corridor as its primary market, the company was built around the idea that homeowners and property managers dealing with water damage, mold, or fire loss deserve a crew that shows up prepared, communicates clearly, and sees the job through, not one that disappears after the first day of drying.

About Us

Veterans Remediation is built on more than 25 years of experience in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, and emergency response. Our founder began his military career in the United States Air Force as a Bioenvironmental Engineer, specializing in CBRNE hazards—chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive threats—and advancing to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He later received a commission in the United States Coast Guard, serving as a Marine Safety Officer, Industrial Hygienist, and Counterterrorism Officer. Across his military and professional career, he developed experience in air sampling, hazard assessment, first response, and protecting people and property from environmental and workplace risks.

That experience informs the work we do today, including mold and moisture remediation, lead-related hazards, fire and other environmental concerns, and the safety practices that guide each project. We bring a practical, service-minded approach to every job, with a focus on careful work, clear communication, and the well-being of our clients.

Family is at the heart of who we are. My wife and I have been together for 32 years and married for 29. We have four children, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. Our military service and family life have taught us the value of responsibility, teamwork, and serving others—values we carry into our work and our community every day.

What we do

The work looks different every day. One morning it’s a call about a burst pipe that soaked two rooms overnight; by afternoon it’s a mold assessment behind a bathroom wall that a homeowner noticed only because the baseboard paint started bubbling. We’re available around the clock, water doesn’t wait for business hours, and neither do we. When someone calls at 2 a.m. because their water heater let go, the goal is to get eyes on the damage fast, stop what’s still spreading, and give the homeowner an honest picture of what comes next.

A significant part of this work runs through insurance claims. We document affected materials, photograph moisture readings, and work directly with adjusters so the process doesn’t fall entirely on the homeowner to manage. That coordination matters, a poorly documented loss can delay a claim or leave legitimate damage uncovered.

Our certifications and licensure

Kenny holds Florida state licenses as both a Mold Assessor and a Mold Remediator, issued through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Earning those licenses takes state testing and continuing education, and holding both means the work is led by someone who understands mold from assessment through remediation. Licensing documentation is available on request.

Our team is OSHA trained. In a trade where crews work in confined spaces, handle contaminated materials, and operate drying equipment in occupied homes, that training isn’t a box to check, it shapes how a job site is set up and how workers protect themselves and the people living there. Restoration work can expose crews and homeowners to mold spores, sewage pathogens, and in older homes, lead-containing materials. Knowing how to manage those hazards is part of doing the job right.

Where we work

Our primary service area is Santa Rosa Beach and the 30A corridor, the stretch of Scenic Highway 30A along Walton County’s Gulf Coast, where high humidity, sandy soil, and a housing stock that runs from older cottages to newer coastal construction and vacation rentals creates a particular set of moisture and storm challenges. The region sees tropical weather systems that can push water into homes from multiple directions at once, storm surge, wind-driven rain, and overwhelmed drainage all at the same time. From a home base just inland in Freeport, we also serve the surrounding Walton County communities and the coastal and inland neighborhoods that make up this part of Northwest Florida. If you’re not sure whether we cover your location, a quick call will give you a straight answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long has Veterans Remediation & Restoration been in business?
The company was founded in 2020 and has been operating out of Freeport, FL since then. While we're a newer company, the team brings trained, disciplined experience to every job, and we're available 24/7 for emergency calls.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Freeport, FL and serve communities throughout the surrounding region in Northwest Florida's Walton County and nearby areas. If you're unsure whether your location falls within our service area, call us directly at (337) 344-1248 and we'll give you a clear answer.
What does it mean that your team is OSHA trained?
OSHA training covers workplace safety standards for environments where crews handle hazardous materials, work in confined or contaminated spaces, and operate heavy equipment. In restoration, that means our team knows how to protect both themselves and the occupants of a home when dealing with mold, sewage, or fire-damaged materials, not just how to dry a floor.
